Teen Girl Believed to Have Died 10 Years Ago Found in an Internet Cafe Playing Games

When someone you knew disappears for 10 years, you can only assume the worst - they are already dead.

However, for Xiao Yun from China it seems that wasn’t the case. According to reports, the 24-year old has been reported missing for a decade only to be found alive and playing games in an internet cafe in Zhejiang province, China.

Xiao yun (or ‘Little Cloud’), was just 14-years-old when she ran away from her parents following an argument with her mum about skipping classes.

Police were called to the internet cafe after they heard reports she was spotted sleeping there in the. She was found playing games and then taken to a local police station where she was questioned by officers and her identity card was found to be fake.

According to a local newspaper, after they were unable to find the original missing person’s report, the police contacted the girl’s parents.

Her parents said they had almost given up hope of seeing their daughter again, “I’ve dreamt of her coming home countless times,” her mum said.

Xiao revealed that she relied mostly on the handouts from fellow cafe patrons as well as working the occasional job of being a cashier to help earn some money.

She had initially refused to reunite with her family but she later gave in. According to her mother, the family had kept the same phone number all these years in hope that she would eventually call home.

Her mother said: “I have a stubborn personality and a short temper, so I used to scold her. But it’s been 10 years and now she’s an adult. I will never scold her again.”
